Talk formats & technical support

Talks: 30-minute talks are allocated around 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A. For shorter talks, please also allow a few minutes for follow-up questions.

Lightning Talks: Lightning Talks are allocated 5–15 minutes, including technical setups. Q&A only if time allows.

BYOD: Please bring your own laptop for your presentation. You can use any presentation format you prefer (PowerPoint, PDF, Google Slides), however, offline formats are recommended. In case you cannot bring a device, you can use the device on-site (Windows laptop), please bring a USB stick with your PDF presentation in this case.

16:9: We recommend using 16:9 aspect ratio for your slides, although 4:3 will also be possible.

Slides: Please upload your presentation slides to your talk on semantic-mediawiki.org. You can do so before or after your presentation. You do not need to submit your presentation to us beforehand.

MicrophoneThe presentation desk has a fixed microphone, so presenters usually stand in front of their laptops during the presentation.

HDMI: Connect via HDMI to the projector, please bring your own adapter. VGA is also possible, though not recommended.

Audio: If you need to present with audio, please make sure your device has a standard audio jack (3.5 mm standard for headphones). Audio via HDMI is not supported.

Live demos: You can show online content live, please be aware we do our best but cannot guarantee a fast and stable connection.

Our team will be available on the day to assist with any technical questions.
